4.0 Immersion Heaters

4.1 - TF Series  (TFB, TFW), Fluoropolymer Immersion Heaters for High Purity Chemical Bath Applications
The TF Series fluoropolymer immersion heaters are designed for the most demanding chemical applications and to provide years of trouble-free performance. Constructed with our exclusive patented N2 “purged” elements for extended service life and custom configured to fit your tank size. High efficiency in a compact design, and an excellent alternative for replacing strip heaters on quartz tanks. Two basic configurations available: TFB for bottom heater applications, and TFW for inside tank wall requirements. Small package size for fast heat-up. Sizes available up to 15kW.
Specfications:    A complete heater and control system package should include an immersion heater, temperature control with safety interlocks, power module and gas purge flow regulator module.

Service: Immersion chemical heater with 100% fluoropolymer wetted surfaces for virtually any nonflammable process solution including HF and KOH.

Standard Features:
• PTFE immersion heater element with .015 inch (0.38mm) thick fluoropolymer sheath for safety and long service life (see Options section)
• Patented “gas purged” element design: Low flow gas purge inside heater element ensures maximum element life by removing any chemical permeation

    through the sheath
• Braid between the coiled resistance wire and the outer sheath ensures even coil separation and eliminates the potential for hot spots
• Low profile design: Single layer bottom heaters are less than one inch (25mm) thick


Two basic configurations available:
  • TFB: bottom style (full bottom surface coverage)
  • TFW: inside wall style (hugs inside walls)

• Perforated PTFE fluoropolymer guard (TFB style heater):
  • Provides protection against physical damage of the heater
  • False bottom on which carriers rest

Heater Sizes: From 500 watts up to 12,000 watts
Temperature Range: Up to 130º Celsius (266° F). For higher temperatures, see Options section.

Watt density:
• Up to 10 watts per square inch (1.5w/cm2)
• NOTE: Highly viscous chemistry and high temperature applications may require a lower watt density heater than standard


Heater Voltages Available: 120 to 600 volts, single or three phase.  (For heaters larger than 6kW, three phase power is recommended.)
4.2 -Electric Immersion Heater Spiral Fluoropolymer (PTFE) - HX, HXL, HXF, HXO HXOL, HXRL, HXSL

Fluoropolymer (PTFE) Electric Immersion Heaters - Our fluoropolymer (PTFE) immersion heaters are compatible with virtually any chemistry and are available in sizes up to 18 kilowatts, single or three phase. We offer a large variety of standard and custom configurations for over-the-side and tank bottom installations, and low profile custom designs are also available. Rigid and flexible risers available. Our screw plug and flange heaters are manufactured in sizes from ½-inch screw plug (100 watt) to 6-inch flange (18 kW). Thermal overtemperature protection standard (except screw plug), and we offer rigid and flexible risers. The vast majority of our immersion heaters are cULus and CE.

SUPERIOR CHEMICAL RESISTANCE: Inert to most aqueous acid, alkaline, anodizing and pickling solutions up to 212°F (100°C).
RUGGED CONSTRUCTION: Heavy wall fluoropolymer (PTFE) covered stainless steel element reduces permeation and eliminates the need for gas purged systems. Guaranteed 100% pinhole free.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE: Low watt density design (10 watts/square inch, 1.5 w/cm2) for long service life.
CORROSION RESISTANT HEAD: Vapor resistant, flame retardant polypropylene terminal enclosure with 3-foot (.9m) flexible PVC liquid tight conduit.

SAFETY FEATURES:
• Grounded internal metal element.
• Thermal protector built in. Replaceable P1 protector standard for solutions up to 180°F (82°C).
• Non-floating construction

CERTIFICATIONS: cULus (1-6kW) and CE (except 600 volts).
SIZES: 500 watts to 9,000 watts.
VOLTAGES: 120 to 600 volts. Single phase only.

4.2.1 - Immersion Heaters - HX Series, Spiral Fluoropolymer (PTFE)
ISingle phase only. Heaters in excess of 24 amps may require a non-standard head with 3/4" conduit, please consult factory.
4.2.2 Immersion Heaters -- HXL Series, Spiral L-shaped Fluoropolymer (PTFE)
Single phase only. This configuration is not recommended for electroless chemistry or applications prone to sludge buildup. Heaters in excess of 24 amps may require a non-standard head with 3/4" conduit, please consult factory.
4.2.3 - Immersion Heaters - HXF Series, Low Profile Fluoropolymer (PTFE)
Single phase only. This configuration is not recommended for electroless chemistry or phosphate acid; please use DAS series heater for phosphate applications. Heaters in excess of 24 amps may require a non-standard head with 3/4" conduit, please consult factory.
4.2.4 - Immersion Heaters: HXFL Series, Low Profile L-shaped Fluoropolymer (PTFE)
Single phase only. Guards recommended. This configuration is not recommended for electroless chemistry, phosphoric acid, or applications prone to sludge buildup; please use DAS series heater for phosphate applications. Heaters in excess of 24 amps may require a non-standard head with 3/4" conduit, please consult factory.
4.2.5  - Immersion Heaters: HXO Series, O-Shaped Fluoropolymer (PTFE)
Single phase only. NOTE: Hot zone extends 2" (51mm) above the heater pad length. Heaters in excess of 24 amps may require a non-standard head with 3/4" conduit, please consult factor.
